PORTUGAL GOLDEN VISA - STILL OPEN

Initially, the government had announced that the Golden Visa program would end immediately, w.e.f 16th Feb 2023. However, after realizing that this may not be tenable, it has now proposed that the program will end prospectively when the new law becomes effective. This means that all the investors who file before the new law comes into effect will be entitled to get Golden Visa as per the existing rules.

The government had also announced that all the Golden Visa pending applications and future renewals would move to a new scheme. However, it has given an important concession requiring a stay of just 7 days a year under this new scheme as well, as per the original golden Visa requirements.

This new law is likely to come into effect in about 45 days.

So those of you looking at getting residency and citizenship in Europe need to act fast.
