PORTUGAL GOLDEN VISA - COST/INVESTMENT REQUIRED

Did you know that you could get a Portugal Golden Visa for € 280,000 also?

One of the most popular ways of obtaining a Portugal Golden Visa is by investing in property.

According to the rules governing the granting of Residency for investment in Portugal, the following type of property investments are eligible under the ARI- Residence permit for investment activity.

Purchase Real Estate in total value equal or greater than:

1. € 500,000 any property with no restrictions;

2 € 400,000 any property located in low-density areas

3. € 350,000 for old properties built over 30 years ago or located in approved urban regeneration areas, with renovations work involved;

4 € 280,000 for old properties built over 30 years ago or located in approved urban regeneration areas, with renovations work involved; located in low-density areas

Thus one can see that the minimum investment amount ranges from € 500,000 to € 280,000.

Up to now, the most popular investment route has been 1 and 3. This is because people are reluctant to invest in low-density areas, which are less developed. It is not easy to find a tenant in such locations and not easy to sell the property. Hence the majority of the people have been investing in bigger and more developed cities like Porto and Lisbon.

However, of late, more and more investors are choosing to invest in managed properties like branded hotels etc., to meet their immigration objective for Portugal Golden Visa.
